How To Plan Projects

Whether a DIY or a work-related project-- it helps to have a plan to complete projects. Here is one simple approach to project planning that should help you become more self reliant:

  • Set a deadline-- when will you be done?
  • Establish milestones-- how are you progressing?
  • Determine an approach-- there may be several, but you need at least one
  • Assess the resources that will be needed-- people, tools, materials, etc.
  • Determine where it will be done-- location can have an impact on the project
  • Define success-- will you know it when you see it?
  • Have focus and a clear mission mentality-- why are you doing it?
  • Be flexible-- even the best plans sometimes need to change to succeed

This approach should help you plan almost any project.  Now, actually executing your plan is up to you . . .

Good luck!
