Words of Wisdom: Albert Einstein (Part I)
Albert Einstein was a German born, American physicist. He is famous for the formula E = mc2 and is typically who people think of when they think of a "Genius". Here are a few of his thoughts:
- To punish me for my contempt for authority, fate made me an authority myself
- Imagination is more important than knowledge...
- Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value
- Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen
- It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer
- Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish
- Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler
- Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
- Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted
- Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one
- The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax
- If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut
- Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater
- The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education
- Every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving
- Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That's relativity
