Make Yourself a Deal to Get Motivated
Just a quick one. Everyone struggles with motivation. Highs and lows happen. One way I push myself to do something is by making deals with myself. How does this work? I tell myself one or more of the following:
- Just do it for 15 minutes-- inevitably, I find I am willing to do a little more . . . and then a little more
- Do this and then you can treat yourself to a __________ (Fill in the blank-- Beer?)
- Do this and take a nap
- Do this and take tomorrow off
Believe me, this approach works. Next time you need motivation-- make a deal!
