How Not to Waste Time in the Car
Do you waste time? I hate to waste time. As I have written many times before- I think time is more valuable than money. You can make more money, time is gone forever.
I spend quite a bit of time in the car as part of what I do for a living. I have made the decision recently that I am going to return to an old habit that I haven't done in a year or two-- listening to audiobooks in the car.
I plan on listening to the following types of books:
- Self-improvement
- Personal finance
- Investments
- Time management
- Sales skills
- Entrepreneurship
As for resources for audiobooks:
- My personal collection
- The library (The frugal approach)
- Borrowing from others (Another frugal approach)
- Possible purchases
I love to learn new things and I usually view time in the car as dead time-- I am going to get something out of that time now. I borrowed an audiobook form the library the other day-- "Freakonomics" if it is any good I will review it here.

Another good thing to do is just think. Many of us do too little of that. With business and personal matters, there is usually little time to focus just on problem solving as you're engaged in other activities. I use travel by car and my time in the shower to address problem solving and planning. It works very well for me.
