What is Your Kryptonite?
Everyone has a weakness. Superman's weakness is Kryptonite. We all have something that is a weakness that can stop us or at least derail us from accomplishing our goals . . .
If you are trying to diet your Kryptonite might be:
- Pizza
- Ice cream
- Cheese doodles
- Chocolate
If you are trying to save money, Kryptonite might be:
- Meals out
- Shoes
- DVDs
- Electronic gadgets
If you are trying to get a project done, the Kryptonite might be:
- Distractions like TV
- Lack of time (Some Thoughts on Finding the Time . . . )
- Procrastination based on lack of focus (You've Got to Start Somewhere, So Chunk It!)
What is the solution? Superman's approach to dealing with Kryptonie was avoidance. While that is an approach, I vote for controlling or limiting it and then using it as an occasional reward (Reward Yourself! and More on Rewarding Yourself . . . ):
- Pizza only on Fridays
- A DVD for meeting a milestone
- TV time for project start, milestone, or completion
So what is your Kryptonite and how do you handle it?
