Disgusting Isn't It?
But it's pure gold for your vegetable garden. It isn't pretty-- it's beautiful! I have posted on my compost before, What Goes Into My Compost Pile?, here is a glimpse of some of what went into my compost today. What is it?
- Coffee grinds
- Cucumber skin
- Banana peels
The soil I get is powerful stuff-- at no cost (one of my favorite characteristics of this compost), but some effort. I effectively turn trash into treasure.
I bury compost materials every day in the summer and every other day in winter. I love digging in the compost pit-- it is a nice, rich black and filled with worms doing their job right now.
