Just Drink Water!
I have been avoiding soda for months now (The Great Soda Challenge Continues (Latest Update)) and I am drinking water, juice, and iced tea instead. Recently, I paid closer attention to the label on a "juice" drink and realized it is less than 10% juice-- which means it is really flavored water. You can really get real juice, and if you do get it-- you pay dearly for it.
It got me thinking-- when you are thirsty, your body is just asking for water (12 Ways to Flavor Water). The caveman didn't crave a Mountain Dew-- he craved water. I reasoned I should just try and drink more water! It's free and saves you money-- very frugal!
Granted, I like iced tea mixes (here are my homemade versions Sunday Afternoon Homemade Iced Tea and Homemade Lemonade-- There is No Substitute), juices mixes, and Gatorade mix, but I really need to go more for water or I will have to make my own fresh squeezed juices or smoothies (Quick Breakfast Idea: Fruit Smoothies).
So be more frugal-- drink more water, then treat yourself to fresh squeezed juices once in a while-- if you can find them (more likely this will be a DIY project).
