Frugality and Changing Our Vocabulary . . .
Frugal people will get this post pretty quick-- they already do this. People looking to become more frugal will need to pay close attention . . .
One of the things we need to do is realign our thinking and perceptions as frugal consumers. We need to remember, we are the buyers and we have the power to demand certain things. Here are some of my suggestions for changing our vocabulary to be more frugal:
- Say, "Is cash okay?" Instead of, "Do you accept credit cards?"
- Say, "What is the cash discount?" Instead of, "What is the finance rate?"
- Say, "Is this tax deductible?" Instead of, "What is the tax on this?"
- Say, "What is the return on this investment?" Instead of, "What's your returns policy?"
- Say, "What else is included in this price?" Instead of, "What accessories do I have to buy?"
- Say, "What's your guarantee?" Instead of, "Can I buy the extended warranty?"
What are your thoughts and ideas on this?
