I just had a tax thought and needed somewhere to put it, so here I am. I pay telephone taxes that include a state component. Not too big, about 2.5% in my case. But it occurs to me that one could buy a prepaid cell phone in a low tax state, and use it in a high tax one. You only pay where you bought it! And cell plans nowadays include lots of long distance.
