Words of Wisdom: Earl Nightingale On Happiness
Earl Nightingale was best known as a motivational writer and author. Here are his thoughts on happiness:
- Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored
- We are at our very best, and we are happiest, when we are fully engaged in work we enjoy on the journey toward the goal we've established for ourselves. It gives meaning to our time off and comfort to our sleep. It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so worthwhile

Many people are looking for someone, something or some place to make themselves happy. It's not going to happen. We're either happy or we're not, and it's a matter of choice.
It isn't who we're with, where we are, or what we own. (Who we're with can make us unhappy, but that's the extent of it, and it's still our choice.)
I believe Abe Lincoln said that people are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
