The Great Soda Challenge Update
A quick update. Back in early December, I posted the start of my personal, The Great Soda Challenge, I have now gone 76 days without soda, forgoing it since the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day. I try to remember that soda was originally a treat-- liquid candy. Somewhere along the way, we were convinced that it was an everyday beverage-- it's not.
Furthermore, I am pleased to report that I have been doing better on the exercise front as well-- for more than a week now I have exercised every day. I started simple-- trying to remember that I am older than I used to be, so I would have to ramp up a little slower. I will be moving from one set of ten reps to two sets of ten reps this week. Next week, will be three sets of ten reps. The following week I will add more reps-- until I get to 15 reps in each of three sets.
Another uphill battle . . .

Did you lose any weight from cutting out all the soda?
You should be proud that you stuck with it for so long!

Unfortunately, no-- it used to be that easy for me. However, I stopped going up. I have started my exercise program which is already helping-- tone and coordination is showing already. I will be getting the regular walking and jogging going in the next few days. My last challenge is to stop eating after 8:00 PM-- the trick there is I sometimes don't get home until after 9:00 PM. Hey, nothing worthwhile is easy . . .

Great job on the cutting out of the soda! I'm trying to get my husband and son off of it, too. Most people don't realize how harmful it is to drink soda. I refuse to buy it anymore. And kudos to you for exercising, too!

Thanks. Not buying soda helps me too. The iced tea and lemonade I drink can be watered down which also helps. It is an uphill battle, but I want to be back in tip top shape-- it will take time.
