I Saved $40, But Spent $60 . . .
With all these crazy sales lately, it made me think of my ex-wife . . . a resident of Spendthrift Manor (Spendthrift Manor and Frugal Homestead)
She used to come home all the time and proclaim that she had saved $40 on some clothing or shoe purchase. My response was always the same, "That/those are nice, but what did you spend?" The answer that time was, "$60 . . . " She viewed it as being up $40, I viewed it as being down $60.
Always think and remember that "saving" that money, cost you money-- you don't get something for nothing. It is a cash outflow-- no matter how you look at it.
