Roadside Memorials
I am very focused on quality of life, when I drive (I am on the road quite a bit) I take notice of beautiful vistas, rock and tree formations, the natural beauty on the roads-- it is there if you look for it. What disturbs me lately is the proliferation in recent years of roadside memorials.
Personally, I don't need to be reminded of the personal tragedies of others. If we had a memorial for every tragedy on every road, all we would see is rows of crosses, candles, and dying flowers as we go down the road.
The place for memorials is the cemetery. My heart goes out to people who have lost loved ones, but let's leave the memorials where they belong.
