DWT Can Be Expensive
This morning I read an article about DWT (Driving While Texting). The article mentions that many states are putting bans and heavy fines in place.
Now, fines can cost you money, but what really caught my eye was the mention that in the event of an accident, your insurance company's (or that of the other party) claims adjuster will check your mobile communications accounts in the moments prior to the accident in order to deny your claim. That is much bigger than some several hundred dollar fine, since repairs to autos in an accident are usually in the thousands of dollars . . .
It annoys me to no end when I see people on handheld cellphones or texting, now here is a reason for people to stop-- big money lost!

Isn't it sad that loss of money may discourage people from engaging in this idiotic activity, while lessening the risk of injury or death apparently does not?
