More on Child Worship . . .
My wife, who works in a local school district, told me that some kids were to be pulled from school today because they might be scared by the Halloween costumes of other students . . . I couldn't believe it.
Talk about over protective parents and turning kids into the objects of ridicule by fellow students! What are these people thinking? Don't let the kids enjoy the holiday.
She also tells me more and more parents are showing up at school to have lunch with their children-- cut the cord and let the kid learn to survive the day on their own!
It is definitely more difficult to raise normal kids in this sort of environment . . . what is the world coming to?

This "afraid of being scared" goes along with expelling students that run around the playground with their index finger extended and their thumb in the air while they shout out "bang, bang" at another student.
George Carlin said it well. We're making kids too soft. As usual, he was right.
Do some people really think that just the costumes on their child's friends and classmates are going to make those children so very frightening?
It occurs to me that some people are just too stupid to be parents. To borrow a line from the movie Parenthood: You need a license to catch a fish, but anyone can be a parent.
