Work Ethics
Most people are probably familiar with the Protestant Work Ethic that stresses your hard work and success is a moral duty and should benefit you, society, and God. However, there are other approaches.
One in particular plays towards the frugally inclined and budget minded. I learned of it through a colleague about 15 years ago. Ever hear of the West Indian Work Ethic? Apparently, West Indians are very industrious-- they have multiple jobs. They want to get ahead and build cash fast.
The thing that always struck me about this approach was that you never really put all your eggs in one basket, no one employer could hang you out to dry . . . very self sufficient in my book. In this day and age we might all learn something from this approach.
What is your work ethic?
