I know, I know . . . it is Columbus Day, but bear with me.  Here is a way to save on your Thanksgiving Day turkey.

If you buy fresh-- I can't do much to help you.  However, there are two good ways to frugally get a Thanksgiving turkey:

1. Buy your frozen turkey now, before the holiday markups hit-- I got one a few weeks ago
2. Another way is to participate in rewards programs (make a certain amount of purchases in the weeks before Thanksgiving) at the local supermarket and get a "free" one
