A Different Way to Look at Life and Stuff

My wife's Aunt and Uncle live in an Amish part of Pennsylvania.  I have asked many questions at family functions about his neighbors and their lifestyle.
While I don't agree with all of their lifestyle choices, I have found that there are some things that can be learned from the Amish.

Apparently, the Amish/Mennonite approach is that if it doesn’t work or produce- we don’t want it or need it.  Think about that and look at your garage, basement, or closets and consider the clutter and wasted money.

How much money has been wasted on stuff you don't use or ever will use?  Time for eBay or a tag sale . . . Time to simplify your life.

I asked about pets and was told, yes, if they also produce food or work.  Makes sense to me.

They also do quite a bit of bartering-- exchanging goods and services for other goods and services.

Everything has its place and serves a purpose.  Think about that-- having only what you need and use . . .

The Amish approach, something to consider . . .
