Marinade and Seasoning Ideas

I love grilling meats because of the flavor enhancement, but what can really make the difference is a good marinade or seasoning.
I like long marinades-- sitting overnight or from the early morning hours is usually best.

Here are some of the marinades or seasonings I use-- I do mix and match them together:

  • Salad dressing (Beef and chicken)
  • BBQ Sauce (Beef, chicken, and pork)
  • A-1 sauce (Beef and chicken)
  • Worcestershire sauce (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Soy sauce (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Teriyaki sauce (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Wine (Beef, chicken, and pork)
  • Beer (Chicken and fish)
  • Sherry (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Whiskey or bourbon (Beef and chicken)
  • Lemon juice (Chicken and fish)
  • Lime Juice (Chicken and fish)
  • Orange juice (Chicken and fish)
  • Olive oil (Beef and chicken)
  • Honey (Chicken and pork)
  • Milk or cream (Chicken)
  • Butter (Beef, chicken, and fish)
  • Ginger (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Onion (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Garlic (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Salts-- sea, kosher, garlic (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Fresh ground pepper (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Cheyenne pepper (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Onion powder (Beef, chicken, pork, and fish)
  • Sesame or poppy seeds (Beef, chicken, and fish)

A good marinade or seasoning can make so-so meat taste 10 times better.  Great meat is 100 times better.

Bon appetit!
