Quick Tip: Conserving Energy and Saving Money
If you haven't made the switch to Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFL’s), you are wasting energy and more importantly . . . money.
I made the switch years ago after my divorce as a cost cutting measure-- my electric usage dropped dramatically, unfortunately my bills stayed about the same because the electric company kept raising the rates (just imagine if I hadn't made the change). The bulbs were a little expensive at the time, but the savings showed up fast. The other day I saw some of these bulbs at Wal-Mart for $0.92 each (a real bargain).
Beyond, saving money, CFL's have some other benefits. CFL's also give off less heat-- a good thing in the summer. Furthermore, the bulbs last longer, so you don't have to waste time change bulbs as often.
Switching bulbs can be accomplished in less than a weekend, but the benefits can last years.
