Lunch/Dinner Idea: Homemade Hamburgers

Another quick chopped meat recipe-- homemade hamburgers.
I say "homemade" because we don't use the prepressed patties you can get at the supermarket.  We prefer to prepare our own to suit our tastes and we like a certain size (about 5 inches in diameter and 1/2-3/4 inch thick).

Here's what you need:

  • 2-3 lbs of chopped/ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoon(s) of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder

Here's what to do:

  • Mix ingredients-- we like to let them marinade for hours or even overnight
  • Shape to suit
  • Grill (See The Magic of BBQ Grilling)

Toppings ideas:

  • Cheese-- American, cheddar, swiss, muenster, etc.
  • Lettuce and tomato
  • Pickle
  • Bacon
  • Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Ketchup
  • Mayo
  • Blue cheese dressing
  • Ranch dressing
  • A-1 Sauce

Start the grill!
