Reward Yourself!

While trying to watch your finances and save a few dollars for a rainy day, you need to think about rewarding yourself once in a while.

What if you set a goal-- like pay off a credit card balance and when you paid it off you bought yourself or your spouse or kids a small reward to celebrate the accomplishment?  Having a reward attached to the debt might motivate you to stay on track and get to the "finish line" faster-- Wouldn't it?

Rewards?  A special dinner out (I have used this one several times) or a night at the movies or a small gift . . . fill in the blank.

Rewarding yourself motivates you and makes you feel good about the sacrifices you and your family made to reach that goal.

Perhaps after achieving a series of small goals you deserve a bigger reward.  Did you pay off all your credit card debt?  Maybe a bigger reward like a weekend away?

In picking your rewards, just try to do something positive and not budget busting . . .
