Multi-Purpose, Residual Benefits, and By-Products

I believe in getting real value out of the things I own or purchase and the activities I do.
I like multi-purpose, residual benefits, and by-products.  As an example , I like fishing because it is a fun activity with the kids, but it also produces a tasty meal of fresh fish.  Furthermore, the bones and other remains are good for my compost pile which helps me enrich the soil of my vegetable garden.

I like drinking water because it is free (we have tasty well water that we filter).  However, it is also very healthy-- good for your skin, digestion, weight control, etc.

I like homemade meals-- they taste great.  However, they also are better on your waist and your wallet--residual benefits.

The multi-purpose vehicle--a used pickup truck is in my near future.  It will do dump runs, wood pickups, and snow plowing-- it will also serve as a backup vehicle if my or my wife's vehicles are down.

Walking for exercise?  It's both fitness and thinking time for me.

Want to be green?  I am green as a by-product of my other activities.  My garbage is dramatically reduced by diverting scraps to composting to create top-notch soil for my vegetable garden.  Oh, another by-product of composting is plenty of fishing bait-- worms.

Always look for multi-purpose, residual benefits, and by-products!
